Brief periods of employment as stylist in Ford Motor Company and as Head Modeller at MGM Film Studios and later as Senior Lecturer, Bournemouth & Poole College of Art.
Living in Italy from 1985-1993.
Influenced by my great interest in Jungian psychology, coupled with skills acquired in the motor industry and film studios, I started to evolve my personal style of working during the 1960's.
Although not conforming to everyone's idea of sculpture my pieces are a fusion of sculpted artefacts and figures set in elaborate architectural environments. Somewhere between sculpture and painting they employ a variety of materials and media, exploiting texture, colour and light.
At small scale and set within glazed cabinets I have found this way of working ideal for the expression of my ideas regarding archetypal images, mythical and narrative themes.
