Miranda Berrow's art is coloured by a life of travel. Born in Canada, schooled in Spain and England. She went on to study Ancient Civilizations in Paris at the Ecole du Louvre, prior to travelling extensively in the Far East and Africa. Returning to London to complete a B.A in fashion at St.Martins School of Art, and finally settling in Dorset 14 years ago with her family, and opening a pottery studio.
Miranda's ceramics are hand coiled in white earthen ware and worked until remarkably fine. Her work is informed both in colour and style by the arts and skills she has observed on her travels. Indian vegetable dyed cloth and weaving, Byzantine decoration and textiles, Persian lustre work...all of which are apparent in the eclectic playful style of her work.
